The Biggest-sounding Blues Junior Yet

With their Blues Junior IV 15-watt, 1 x 12-inch combo, Fender found a way to take one of the most popular all-tube amplifiers of all time and make it even better. You'll still find the same conveniently giggable size, pedal-friendly character, and ideal volume that make the line so successful. Yet with its tweaked preamp for a larger tonality, upgraded Celestion A-type 12-inch speaker, smoother-sounding reverb, and fashionable aesthetics, the Fender Blues Junior IV is sure to become a legend of its own.

A truly legendary combo

Players of all styles and genres have been leaning on Fender Blues Junior all-tube combo amplifiers for years. Their ability to coax American cleans and thick drive from their EL84 power sections allows them to fit within any rig. They are also incredible platforms for players who utilize effects to achieve their tones. But perhaps the most attractive thing about the Fender Blues Junior IV and previous models is the way Fender crammed the perfect amount of power into a combo that is affordable, lightweight, compact, and extremely easy to gig with.

Familiar tone with a bigger attitude

The Blues Junior has always been known for great tones. Yet to make the Junior IV stand out from previous iterations of the model, Fender tweaked the preamp to deliver a fuller sound that is far in excess of the amplifier's compact dimensions. As you turn the amplifier up, you'll notice the lows stay full, the mids can be as assertive or as mellow as you need, and the top still sings with the familiar American-voiced chime. Not only that, but you'll control it all with the same easy-to-navigate top panel controls as before. Great sounding and simple to use. Can't ask for more than that.

A few added tonal sweeteners

The preamp tweaks in the Blues Junior IV already takes it into boutique-tone territory. But Fender didn't stop there. They also worked on the amplifier's spring reverb circuit, smoothing out its tone. This allows you to crank it into surfy territory without losing any tonal detail. But the update that has grabbed Sweetwater guitarists' attention the most is the addition of a Celestion A-type 12" speaker. The A-type is voiced to deliver the quintessential American tones that Fender built their empire on. You'll love the way its higher headroom handles your favorite pedals and higher-output pickups. IV is the Blues Junior you've always wanted.

Completely blown away. A true amplifier. Takes your guitar to the next level, each note has so much weight behind it. You can make it sound small in your room, you can make it sound booming and full. The reverb helps to accentuate your note out in space. The Fat button is very useful, especially at low volumes it can push the amp just enough. My first personally owned tube amp and I couldn't be happier! I just want to play my fender Stratocaster
This is my first tube amp, and boy am I impressed. What a clean, deep, natural guitar sound it produces, even at low volume, as I use this at home. I have no need for pedals with this thing, it gives me every tone and sound that I need all on its own. I use it with a Fender American Ultra Strat and a Gibson Les Paul.....both sound great through this amp. Money well spent.
I'm not sure why I name it this but it sure is a sweet amp. I've had few tube amps over the years: 100w Ampeg V-4 head with mismatched homemade (15" jbls and piezo tweeter each with a sunburst Rickenbacher) cabs, Art attack amp also 100 watts (from the 90's), recently: AC10c Vox kind of muddy sound.
Well conclusively speaking, this Blues Jr IV has a lot of personality. The main volume is really the "GAIN". So crank that up to 8 and master 2, push the fat switch and there's all kinds of sensitivity and sustain with my Tele affinity. Just a Behringer delay pedal and the amps own reverb. Look forward to warming this baby up in my dinky apt; I get no complaints and I got no complaints: thanks fender and Sweetwater!
(Except the input for the fat switch pedal buried in the back hole too
near sensitive speaker wires.)
Prefer the switch (fat) on the amp anyway. Notified Fender in Scottsdale they thought it was " interesting". Also can use given pedal for Mustang modelling amp to switch between 2 different presets, oh yeah! Big Momma! She's gonna get ya, she's gonna get you good!
It's a perfect amp to go with the big boys. Handles pedals well. The typical Clean Fender sound is great and the Fat channel has the right amount of grit if you want it. I'm extremely happy with the purchase and recommend it for a great practice or gigging amp.
this will be a small review, great with any pedals, clean sounds sound blissful, can handle any genre. my go 2 amp for giging, and when i meant great with pedals i have a total of 10 in my pedal board and they all work nicely
